Data Privacy Policy

1) General
We take seriously the matter of protecting your personal information.  As a general principal we collect personal data provided by you only of the purposes of running our club and providing relevant information relating to our club to those who have agreed to receive it.

2) Information we collect
We collect two kinds of information when you visit our web site.  We collect generalised data to enable us to compile statistics concerning the use of our web site.  You may also elect to provide us with specific personal information on certain parts of this web site.  Wherever possible you will be given an option enabling you to elect whether or not to receive further electronic or other communications from us.

3) Use and storage of the information we collect
Any personal information you elect to send us is intended to be retained and used by us exclusively for the purposes of administering our club and/or promoting functions and fund raising activities related to our club and/or Rotary more generally.  We will use our best endeavors to ensure that any personal information you provide is stored only in secure and password protected files/formats/locations so as to prevent access by unauthorised persons.

4) Disclosure to Third Parties
We will not trade in or otherwise reveal (unless required by law) any personal information to any third party, excepting where such data may reasonably be expected to be revealed to a third party who is acting for or on behalf of the club for the purposes of administration or for the provision of other services related to the club. Where we reveal any such information to a related third party the club will use its best endeavors to ensure that those those third parties retain and use any information provided by us only for the purposes specified by the club in relation to the activities specified by the club and subject to data privacy policies broadly similar in nature to this privacy policy.

5) Cookies
This web site makes use of cookies.  The use of cookies is intended only to facilitate your use of this web site by identifying your session to our systems.  No personal information is permanently stored in or retrieved from cookies by our web site for any other purpose.

6) Opting out of further communications
If you have previously provided personal information to us and wish to 'opt out' of receiving any further communications you may do so by e-mailing unsubscribe@valleyrotary.org.au asking to be removed from our mailing list and providing the original email address you gave to us.

7) Correcting information we have
If you believe any of the personal information we may be holding about you to be incorrect, please email corrections@valleyrotary.org.au with the relevant amendments, including the original email address you gave us.

8) Complaints
If you have a complaint about the way you believe we have handled your personal information, please address the complaint in writing to the Secretary of the Club at our current postal address.
